Inviting an electrician into your home or business should be easy and predictable. Here’s how a visit with Progress and Heritage Electric works, from booking to the final invoice, so you know exactly what to expect.

Booking

Book through our booking page or call us. Tell us what’s going on: what you’re seeing, what you want added, or the project you’re planning. Photos help. We’ll schedule a time and confirm it with you.

Who Shows Up

A licensed, insured electrician working for a Virginia licensed electrical contractor, in a company vehicle. Our technicians are background-checked. We arrive in the window we gave you, or call if something changes.

At the Start of the Visit

  • We’ll ask you to show us the problem or the area, and the location of your electrical panel.
  • We protect floors and work areas as needed.
  • For service calls, we’ll explain our service call charge and ask you to authorize the diagnosis before we start.

Diagnosis and a Clear Recommendation

We find the cause, not just the symptom. Then we explain, in plain language:

  • What we found and why it matters
  • What we recommend, and any options
  • What it will cost, in writing, before any work beyond what you’ve authorized
  • What needs a permit and inspection, and how long it will take

Small repairs can often be done on the spot once you approve them. Larger jobs get a written estimate.

Agreements and Your Right to Cancel

For larger work, we provide a written agreement. For homeowners, Virginia and federal rules give you the right to cancel certain home agreements within three business days, and our paperwork explains it. We’ll tell you how that affects scheduling.

During the Work

  • We work cleanly, label what we change and keep you informed.
  • If we find something unexpected, we stop and talk with you before going further.
  • We pull the permit and schedule inspections where required.

When We’re Done

  • We test the work, clean up, and walk you through what we did.
  • Your invoice describes the work. You can pay by card through the online link on it (up to our card limit), or by check.
  • For permitted work, we meet the inspector and let you know when it has passed.

After the Job

If something isn’t right, call us. For ongoing peace of mind, ask about our maintenance plans. And if you were happy with our work, a review helps your neighbors find us.
