How Our Home and Business Maintenance Plans Work

Most electrical problems give a warning before they become a repair: a loose connection, a GFCI that no longer trips, a surge protector that’s used up, a generator battery near the end. A maintenance plan puts an electrician in front of those warnings on a schedule, instead of waiting for something to fail. Here’s how our home and business plans work.

Home Safety

One visit a year, in the spring:

  • Inspection of your panel and service equipment
  • Tightness check of accessible connections
  • GFCI and AFCI protection tested
  • Surge protection checked
  • Hardwired smoke and CO alarms tested
  • A written report with photos and recommendations

Home + Generator

Two visits a year, spring and fall:

  • Everything in Home Safety
  • Generator exercise and transfer switch test at each visit
  • Your standby generator checked before storm season and before winter

If you have a standby generator, this is the plan that keeps it ready. See home standby generators.

For Businesses

Commercial plans are built around your facility after a walk-through: inspections, infrared scans, standby generator testing, emergency lighting checks and reports matched to your equipment and schedule. See what a commercial maintenance plan covers.

How the Plans Work

  • Members get priority scheduling whenever they need us between visits.
  • You choose yearly or monthly payment.
  • Your agreement lists what’s covered: the site and the equipment included, so there’s no question about what each visit checks.
  • We contact you when a visit is due to set a day that works.
  • Plans renew each year, and we send a renewal notice ahead of time with the terms. Your agreement explains how to cancel, including from your online account.

Signing Up

Homeowners can sign up online through their customer account, or ask us when we’re out for a visit. The agreement is signed electronically, and the first payment can be made by card online. Business plans are quoted after a walk-through.

Why a Plan Is Worth It

  • Problems found while they’re small and less expensive to fix
  • Safety devices you know are working, not just installed
  • A generator you know will start
  • Written reports you can share with an insurer or a buyer
  • One electrician who knows your home or building
